ABOUT CRIMSON PULPFIC

Stories that bleed truth · Ink Grit Independence

WHO WE ARE

We're an independent micro-press publishing modern pulp fiction with grit, craft, and independence. Founded by author and publisher Jay Tarzwell, Crimson PulpFic keeps alive the old pulp tradition of mystery, masks, and stories that burn too bright for corporate shelves.

In an age of algorithms and marketing departments, we still believe in stories that matter more than metrics. Our house writers span crime noir, weird fiction, adventure, science fiction, and romantic suspense. Each came knocking with stories the world needs to hear. We gave them a home where quality matters more than quarterly reports.

Crimson PulpFic operates on a simple principle: deadlines still matter, and the story always comes first.

WHAT WE PUBLISH

Crime & Mystery

Hardboiled detectives, rain-slick streets, morally complex characters. Crime fiction with teeth and compassion.

Weird & Horror

Gothic dread, supernatural tales, folklore-infused nightmares. Stories that creep under your skin and stay there.

Adventure & Action

Globe-trotting heroes, high-octane set pieces, cinematic thrills. Adventure that doesn't wait for permission.

Science Fiction

Hard sci-fi concepts, ethical dilemmas, tech noir. Stories from tomorrow's edge that ask the hard questions.

Romantic Suspense

Dangerous chemistry, sharp dialogue, high stakes. Romance where love and danger share a cigarette.

Contemporary Fiction

Character-driven narratives, serialized stories, grounded human drama. Fiction that reflects modern life with honesty.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The pulp tradition has always been about speed, craft, and stories that grab readers by the throat. We honor that tradition while bringing modern standards of quality and professionalism.

Quality Over Quantity

We publish fewer books, but every one earns its place on the shelf. Our editorial process is rigorous. Our production standards are professional. Our commitment to craft is non-negotiable.

The Pen Name Tradition

Like the pulp magazines of old, we embrace the tradition of pen names and masks. Our writers maintain anonymity to write without restraint, free from the constraints of day jobs, reputations, or expectations. The story matters more than the signature.

Independence Matters

We're not beholden to shareholders, marketing committees, or trend-chasing algorithms. We publish what we believe in. We work with writers we trust. We build relationships that last beyond a single book deal.

Not Accepting Submissions

We're not currently accepting new author submissions. Our focus remains on nurturing our existing roster and delivering exceptional stories to readers who still believe in the power of pulp.

FROM THE PUBLISHER

I started Crimson PulpFic because I believe great stories shouldn't need permission from gatekeepers or validation from algorithms. After years of traditional publishing, ghostwriting, and watching talented writers compromise their vision to fit market trends, I wanted to build something different.

Crimson PulpFic is that experiment: a micro-press where craft matters, deadlines exist, and writers can tell the stories they need to tell without apology. We're small by design. Independent by necessity. Committed to quality because anything less dishonors the tradition we're carrying forward.

Welcome to the next chapter of pulp fiction.
